Rebuild Palmyra

2018

This exhibition, Rebuild Palmyra, guides visitors through the historical significance of Palmyra and current debates surrounding the protection of World Heritage sites. Confronted with recent news of destruction and supported by a multimedia presentation of the city's history, the exhibit empowers visitors to make informed, personal decisions. It raises the critical question of whether, and for what reasons, the ruins of Palmyra – now a symbol of endangered heritage – should be rebuilt. Due to its success, the exhibition was extended to Braunschweig after its premiere in Konstanz, continuing its impact on public dialogue around cultural preservation.
